Alex Proyas a Egypt born australian Musicvideo and Movie director and hs nothing to do with Spielberg. His heritage is even Greek. Just wanted to let you know. He also made Dark City, one of the fucking coolest movies ever.

I know I adore that movie but I was being sarcastic after I watched the movie.. like one dude said in the imdb forums.. there is a hole in the plot what we should do.. lets fill it in with christianity.. if doesnt fit, its aliens!
